Name of your Business
Where are you from originally and how did you land in Lowry?
Born in Colorado Springs. Raised 9 years in Europe (Italy and Germany). Have lived in the Denver Metro area since 1981 and bought a home just off the Eastern boundary of Lowry (8th & Havana) in 2001.
What’s your favorite thing about Lowry?
I like the small-town community feel that Lowry offers. Yet, the amenities such as parks, businesses, health, and medical facilities, restaurants, etc make it a nice place to shop, tend to business and leisure activities. Lowry Beer Garden, Eisenhower Chapel, Savory Spice, Bishops, Officer’s Club are some of my favorites.
Why do you enjoy the work that you do?
Music has been my passion since I was a small boy. It has created feelings and emotions inside me. As I heard music, I saw pictures in my mind. Sometimes images were of me performing on a concert stage, (yes I was that guy in his bedroom with his headphones on, playing air guitar) or perhaps the image was of the mountains and countryside of Europe where I was raised. Music speaks to my heart and soul – indeed the very essence of my being.
So in 1987, starting out with my home stereo system, B Jammin Productions was born. Yes, I’ve been an entertainer and DJ for over 30 years.
What excites me the most about being a DJ (aside from the music) is the opportunity to create something unique and special. Your music program is not developed for you, but by you with my knowledge, guidance, and expertise. Together we create a memory – your wedding, birthday, graduation, prom, corporate event just as you have imagined. I provide music suggestions and ideas, determine the appropriate sound system and ideal setup location and design lighting ideas.
Then, when it comes time for your event, I am the conductor. Coordinating with the venue, caterer, and photographer to make sure that your event flows as smoothly as possible. With music, I strive to create the feeling, the emotion, and the ambiance that makes your event memorable.
In 2005, I acquired ACES DJs With Heart. ACES has been serving the Denver Metro and Colorado area since 1977. One of our annual public events is the Federation Ball for the Star Trek convention, which we have been the exclusive DJ’s for over 20 years.
What do you want the community to know about your business?
I have had the pleasure to DJ with professional musicians (The Hazel Miller Band, Edge & Watson and Steve McCarty – formerly of the Steve Miller Band). Once, at a wedding reception, the 3 piece string ensemble had just completed playing cocktail music. As I began playing dinner music, the musicians picked up their instruments and continued playing, added to the magic of the moment. The entire room stopped and applauded. Wow, strings and a DJ jammin’ together.
Some fun venues have included back yards (including one by a lake), barns, horse arenas, an airplane hanger, state parks, Buckskin Joe’s in Canon City, the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, and atriums and ballrooms of hotels. There was the night the hotel fire alarm kept going off – thus my dedication song to the bride and groom was “Burning Down The House”.
You will find me uniquely trained beyond the average DJ, which includes course work specializing in music from the Institute of Music, Health and Education – Boulder CO.
Graduate-level studies in Guided Imagery and Music – The Helen Bonney Method – Mid Atlantic Institute.
When you are not hard at work, how do you unwind and enjoy your free time?
My simple pleasures in this journey called life include the Broncos and Rockies, Formula 1 racing, meditation, public speaking, creative writing/poetry, and volunteering in community events.
